PETARD in October and November


Yo, recently in MY OWN PETARD, I simultaneously, abruptly stopped my previous story, “Good is as Bad as Pussy Gets,” and started a new story, “Schadenfreude for Kurt Dortmund.” This time, I enter the strip myself and take a trip to the Richard M. Nixon Museum. It’s full of paintings and statuary commemorating different points of the secret life of the disgraced 37th President of the Yooo-nited States.

Yoshiharu Tsuge Story Preview

I recently finished an 11 page story about the esteemed Japanese manga artist, Yoshiharu Tsuge, called “Wanted,” for the upcoming GARO tribute issue of SECRET PRISON. You can read more about the story in my previous post.

The issue will premiere at SPX 2012, September 15th and 16th. It is published by Box Brown’s RETROFIT Comics and will be on sale at his table (H14).

You can take a look at page1, page 2 and paqe 3. Please note that the story reads right to left as does manga in the original Japanese.

SECRET PRISON 7 – Tribute to GARO

I’m currently finishing up a long story about the esteemed Japanese manga artist, Yoshiharu Tsuge, for the upcoming GARO tribute issue of SECRET PRISON. The story is based on how a young, down-on-his-luck, Tsuge came to draw manga at GARO in 1965, where he became one of the most celebrated alternative manga artists. The above is the splash page. You can preorder a copy of this fine comic with an impressive roster of artists at Kickstarter. SP7 is completely funded. Money raised over the target amount will go to the artists. SECRET PRISON 7 is edited by Ian Harker and is being published by Box Brown’s RETROFIT COMICS. The issue will premiere at SPX 2012, September 15th and 16th.
